In true first-born fashion, I have found much delight in extending my favorite role of being Big Sister to people beyond my siblings.

Mentorship is essentially just my way of offering to show up for your life, walk side by side with you, hold your hand in some moments, while I push you forward in others. To encourage you, challenge you, play with you.

I approach mentorship from the foundation of creation, and can absolutely show up as guidance to further your artistry, but you do not need to be an “artist” or a photographer for us to work together in this way. I have been a Big Sis to young children, artists, engineers, mothers, thinkers, men from every generation, writers, athletes, musicians, talkers, queerfolk, and health nuts. Even to people who do not claim to be anything; not yet, anyway. My work as a Big Sister in this world is centered in the devotion of coming to understand your core, and discovering together how having a witness to that core might change us both.

To relate to one another in this way is a dynamic exchange of listening and taking action, that stems from understanding how your desires and needs overlap with one another. As your Big Sis, it is my nature to create a blueprint for exploration so that we may find our way to your core. Through this journey you will collect experiences that will be significant to your life’s story, and be prompted for creating as you feel led by your inner fire.

The interplay between structure and fluidity is significant when inviting in growth like this, so creating a schedule that supports you is something we do together, partly through communication and partly through what I can intuit about you.

Please begin your journey with the Initiation Form below— this will help me gauge what kind of support you are looking for so that I can confidently discern if I’d be a good fit for your needs. Should we decide to move forward together, we will begin with a consultation call, where we’ll come to know one another better and co-create a supportive interactive timeline between the two of us.

I am overjoyed to be your standing Big Sister, thank you for trusting me.

Session Insight

  • $150

An hour and fifteen minute video call between you and Sky where you will explore your needs and desires in more depth. Sky will have prepared questions and ideas based on what she gathers about what you share in your initiation form. At the end of the call you will discuss the options for potential next steps.

  • Starting at $750

    *can be paid in installments

Should you hone in on a specific focus that you’d like to explore with Sky, she will develop a structure meant to support the vision you have in mind.

Sky approaches collaboration from a place of priority and flexibility, so she will be mindful of navigating this mentorship so that it becomes something that excites you, rather than something that stresses you.

The general structure of this kind of mentorship:

Sky will prompt you each week with thoughtful quests and creative endeavors meant to deepen your life’s experience. She will meet with you weekly for one hour via video call, designed for discussion and integration.

  • $125

After having a consultation with Sky, if you do not feel the need or readiness to do a focused exploration, you have the option to meet as often or as little as you feel led. Stand alone sessions are one hour video calls. Sky will prompt you with an inquiry before each session so she can show up prepared for your needs at the time of your session.

Initiation Form

With an artist’s attention to detail and a great capacity for receiving information, as well as a gift for expression, Skylar is both a photographer and a model. She is always learning, and she lives and leads by example. Skylar’s life is driven by exploration, and everything she learns she incorporates into a truly singular and honest life. Her daily routines, her relationships and art, the homes she creates, the climates she lives in, all reflect a life of puzzle-piece curiosity in pursuit of knowing herself and caring for her health holistically. In the moments when I am in danger of floating away, I still hear her voice reminding me to eat three hot meals a day. When I am doubtful or despondent, I find inspiration in her faithful practice.

In this way, Skylar is constantly spilling over. One consequence of her fearlessness is this inspiration that moves others, including myself, to explore their own worlds. Beyond this, though, Skylar is committed to raising everything around her alongside herself. I see it in how much she loves her three younger brothers, how careful she is with knowing everyone she meets by name (Skylar does not forget a name), how she engages in art and economy in her communities. I see it in how she loves me, how she vowed not to speak to me until I’d made a move to commit to a new opportunity, and did exactly that when I delayed taking the next step for two months. As a big sister, she can be tough.

Skylar’s cultivated self-knowledge helps her to see others with the same patience and curiosity she has for herself. Whether I realized it or not, she has spent many years teaching me to use the tools in my kit to build the life I want to live, and helping me wade through the mud to see the vision more clearly. I’m better at saying no now; I’m inspired more easily; I see the world through kinder eyes; I love. Her sisterhood has touched every aspect of my life and reverberated into my relationships with other strong women. Loving and being loved by Skylar has expanded my ability to love everything else around me.
